About KATYA
Sydney’s first Air Touch salon.
KATYA is a specialist colour and cutting studio for women who want exceptional hair and an easy time getting it. Most of our clients come for the same thing: a soft, healthy blonde that grows out beautifully, and a cut that holds its shape long after they leave.
Our focus is narrow on purpose: Air Touch, Camouflage Original, colour correction and precision cutting. Techniques chosen because they deliver seamless colour while keeping your hair as healthy as possible.
The experience is designed for people whose time matters. Land in the chair, hand it over, and switch off or get some work done. Real conversation if you want it, silence if you don’t. Never small talk. Quiet playlist, loose leaf tea, greenery, a charger for your phone.

Meet Kateryna
I’m Kateryna, the award-winning colourist and educator behind KATYA.
I’ve never been good at “good enough”. My clients wanted blonde that looks effortless, grows out softly and stays healthy. I listened, and when the usual techniques couldn’t deliver it, I went looking for the ones that could.
That search took me from top Eastern Suburbs salons to some of Eastern Europe’s most influential cutters and colourists, and to the creator of the original Camouflage technique, who taught me directly. Ten years on, I’m still refining.
Now other hairdressers learn from me. I teach Air Touch across Australasia as part of the Joico Hairdressing Team, and my work has appeared at Australian Fashion Week, in editorial shoots and at the Sydney Opera House.
In the chair, that means you don’t have to explain twice, watch the mirror or manage the outcome. I obsess over the details so you don’t have to think about them.

Air Touch
Every section of hair is separated with a blast of air, so only the longer strands are lightened and the shorter ones stay natural. Colour woven through the hair rather than painted on in stripes, with no harsh regrowth line, ever. Most clients stretch their appointments to three or four months.

Grey Camouflage Method
Grey coverage that works nothing like traditional tint. Instead of one flat colour with a hard line the moment your roots appear, the greys are blended into a custom mix that mimics the natural variation in your hair. It holds its cool tone for months and grows out with no visible line.
